Seventh Annual Foundation Gala
Save The Date! On Friday, February 24, 2012, the Community Foundation of Orange will be hosting it's Seventh Annual Foundation Gala, honoring our local Community Champion Gaddi Vasquez. Gaddi was the 8th United States Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture, in Rome, Italy. He was nominated by President George W. Bush and unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate on June 29, 2006. Vasquez was sworn into office on September 7, 2006, by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and served in the position until 2009. Prior to that, he was the first person of Hispanic ancestry to head the Peace Corps. Currently, Ambassador Vasquez is the Vice President of Public Affairs at Southern California Edison. He is being honored for his long history of service and involvement in the Greater Orange Community. The event will be held at The Villa Banquet Room in Orange from 6-10 pm. 2012 Foundation Games
The 2012 Foundation Games will be held on Friday, April 13th and Saturday, April 14th at Fred Kelly Stadium in Orange.Open to all elementary and middle school students (born in years 1997-2005) attending school within the boundaries of the Orange Unified School District (public, private, parochial or home-school). Bringing together student athletes, their families, friends, local police & fire, this event showcases community spirit combined with friendly competition, promoting a healthy lifestyle. The 2012 Foundation Games is a two-day Youth Track
The Community Foundation is pleased to assist lower income student athletes who cannot afford the cost of playing recreational and high school sports. Through a $2000 donation to Orange High School, over 20 OHS student athletes will receive much needed financial assistance.
On November 9th City Officials, OUSD Athletic Directors, Family, Friends, and members of the community gathered for the unveiling and presentation of the Bob Hobbs Trophy Case commissioned by the Community Foundation of Orange in partnership with the City of Orange.
